His Feb. 16, 1992 obituary in the St. Paul Pioneer Press says that he was a Veteran of Submarine Seabees, past commander of the Jewish War Veterans, and adjutant of the American Legion, member of the Temple of Aaron Synagogue, and devoted a great deal of his time assisting the elderly.
