His obituary is in the Lansing State Journal of Thursday 09 December 2004, Page 5B and reads "Noble, Dean - Onondaga, MI.- Age 88, died Tuesday, December 7, 2004 in Charlotte. Dean was born February 16, 1916 in Onondaga and lived there his whole life. He was a veteran of WWII and a member of the VFW in Mason. Dean retired from Wyeth, Inc. in Mason after 35 years of service. He was a member of the Onondaga Community Church, Past Master and Life Member of the Onondaga Masonic Lodge # 197 F & AM and other Masonic Orders. Dean was involved in Onondaga Township government for 41 years, serving as Justice of the Peace, Township Treasurer, Planning Commission and Board of Review. Surviving him are his wife of 59 years, Joyce (Osborne) Noble of Onondaga; 1 daughter, Janece (George "Biff") Rockey of Berrien Springs; 2 sons, Warren (Becky) Noble of Onondaga, Robert (Joanie) Noble of Eaton Rapids; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at the Shelly-Odell Funeral Home, 518 S. Main, Eaton Rapids, with Rev. William Muller officiating. Interment will follow at the Onondaga Cemetery, Onondaga, MI. The family will receive friends on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Onondaga Community Church Building Funs or Eaton Community Hospice in memory of Dean Noble."

The following was in the Jackson Citizen Patriot of Sunday 18 February 1945 "Onondaga Man Wins Silver Star - For daring and courage in action in France, Corp. George Dean Noble, son of Fred Noble of Onondaga, Ingham county, has been awarded the Silver Star, and the soldier has sent the award to his father for safe-keeping. A citation, signed by Maj. Gen. L.S. Hobbs, accompanied the award. It reads as follows "Pvt. Noble (his promotion to Corporal came later) was assigned to duty with an infantry organization engaged in repulsing a vigorous enemy counter-attack. During the attack many enemy tanks overran friendly positions. Pvt. Noble and a group of his comrades crawled over open terrain, and though exposed to enemy fire from mortars, artillery and small arms, they destroyed an enemy tank which threatened the command post. The daring, personal courage and aggressive initiative displayed by Pvt. Noble reflect great credit on himself and in keeping with the highest traditions of the armed forces" Corp. Noble entered military service in April, 1942, while he was employed by the Camshaft Machine Co. plant, Woodworth Rd., north of Jackson. His father also worked there. He went overseas a little over a year ago. A brother, Pvt. Warren Noble, is also in the Army and is now on the west coast."
