He was born on Aug. 5, 1932, in Dinwiddie County, Va., to John and Elizabeth Winfield Allen of Dinwiddie County, Va.
Benny, as he was so affectionately known to all family and friends, was the eldest of five children. He leaves to cherish his loving and everlasting memories, his wife, Mrs. Aillen Allen; four children; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren, all of Baltimore; one sister, Mrs. Martha A. Coleman of Dinwiddie, Va. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held in Baltimore at 11 a.m. on Feb. 21, 2013, from the Calvin B. Scruggs Funeral Home, 1412 E. Preston St. Baltimore, MD 21213; phone, 410-837-4926. Viewing at 10 a.m. Service at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery, 3900 Hollins Ferry Road, Baltimore, MD 21227.
