FROSTBURG- Beulah Anita "Mary Jane" Lewis Glover, 90, of Frostburg died Saturday, February 16, 2013. She was born on April 21, 1922 in Frostburg. She was the daughter of the late Richard Franklin Lewis and Bessie Scott (Smith) Lewis.
Mrs. Glover was preceded in death by her husband, Charles M. Glover, Jr. on March 16, 2004 and her son Charles M. Glover III, on March 7, 2010 and her brothers Ervin, Ted, Frank and Harper Lewis.
She was the last surviving member of her family. Mrs. Glover graduated from Beall High School and remained active in her class of 1940 and Allegany Hospital School of Nursing in 1943. She retired from the United States Soldiers and Airman's Home in Washington D.C. Returning to Frostburg she worked part time at Frostburg Village Nursing Home and Frostburg Extended Care Unit. During her nursing career she worked at the Frostburg Hospital under all three names, Miner's, Frostburg Community and Frostburg Hospital. She is survived by two children, Diane Monk and husband William T. Monk of Atlanta, Ga., and Karen Glover of Hagerstown, Md; four grandchildren, Holli Glover and Robert Glover of Flowery Branch, Ga., and Jamie Monk and Susan Monk, Atlanta, Ga., two great grandchildren, April Glover of Dayton, Va. and Amber Glover of Flowery Branch, Ga., and a daughter-in-law, Vicki Glover of Flowery Branch, Ga., and two dear nieces, Donna Carter of Frostburg and Janice Robison of Cresaptown. Mrs. Glover was a member of Welsh Baptist Church, Beall High School Alumni, Sacred Heart Alumni, Daughters of the Nile and Delta Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi International Society.
At her request, her body was cremated. A memorial service will be held at Welsh Memorial Baptist Church, 17 Beall Street,Frostburg, on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Thomas Winborn officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
