John Emory Shelfer
John Emory Shelfer, passed away May 22, 2001 in California City after a bout with cancer. He lived in California City for 12 years.
John was born June 12, 1940 in Panama City, Florida. For 11 years he owned his own business, Custom Auto & RV. John also served his country in the Army for four years and was a member of the Moose Lodge, the Legion and the Model T Club.
He leaves to mourn: his companion of 20 years, Aurora, of California City; his father, W. Emory Shelfer, and sister Diane Shelfer of Ocala, Florida; one brother, Carl Shelfer and his wife Vivian, of Atlanta, Georgia; and two nieces, Dawn and Barbie both of Georgia.
Services were held at Community Church of California City, May 25, 2001 conducted by Reverend Ron Sparks. John is now at rest at California City Cemetery. Arrangements by Stickel.
Cemetery records lists him as a veteran.
