Thomas Clarence Pettit
Thomas C. Pettit, 75, of Boron, California, died January 5, 1996 in Lancaster. He was born May 7, 1920 in Towner, North Dakota.

Thomas was one of seven sons born to Frank and Ruby Pettit. All the boys served in the United States Navy. During World War ll, Thomas saw action in the South Pacific. He survived two submarine sinkings.
After the war, he settled in California and in later years lived in the Boron, Red Mountain areas as well as Lancaster and Bakersfield.
A welder by trade, he worked in trade and construction and was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and a Chaplain for Post 97, Bakersfield in 1976.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Betty; his three sons, Raymond, Terry and Howard, all of Idaho; his
two daughters, LaRayne, of Idaho, and Jackie of Lancaster, his eighteen grandchildren and his thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas, Jr.
Five of Thomas' brothers survive. They are Frank, Floyd, Dale, Walt, and Les, while Pete is deceased.
Viewing was at Stickel Mortuary, Mojave. Graveside services were held on January 9, 1996 at California City Memorial Cemetery with Reverend William R. Singh of Lodi officiating.
