IN REMEMBRANCE
Jennie Lou Cobleigh was born in Los Angeles on November 16, 1928 to Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. Cobleigh.
During her childhood her father passed on after a short illness.
Mrs. Cobleigh married John R. Gettys, a widower, with two sons, John R. II and Eugene E. in 1941.
Jennie Lou spent the first three years of her happy high school days while attending Verdugo Hills High Schoof. There she achieved recognition as a vocalist of great charm, and pleased many with her singing. Her last year of high school was spent at Antelope Valley Joint Union High School, where she graduated.
In the spring of 1946 Jennie Lou married John R. Gettys II at Las Vegas, Nevada, with their. parents in attendance at the ceremony. .
The young people continued to make their home in Rosamond.
The marriage was blessed by the arrival of Nancy Lou Gettys on January 26, 1947, and John R. Gettys III on October 7, 1948.
Jennie Lou Gettys passed on, April 20, 1949.
Memorial services were held at the church of the Nazarene in Lancaster, April 23 with Reverend Wayne Jenkins officiating.
"Rock of Ages and "In the Garden" were sung. Words of comfort were taken from the twenty third Psalm.
Interrment was at the Lancaster cemetery.
Mrs. Gettys leaves her parents Mr. and Mrs. John R. Gettys I, her husband. John R. Gettys II, her babies, Nancy Lou and John R. III, a brother in law, Eugene E. and her aunt, Mrs. Alice Maples, all of Rosamond. There are
also two uncles, Robert S. Woolsey and Albert R. Woolsey of Los Angeles.
