Evelyn Sanders Remley, 87, went to be with her Lord on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013. Service: 1:30 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Evelyn was born Dec. 13, 1925, in Whitesboro to James Houston and Devie Anderson Sanders. She married William Hardin Remley and had two daughters, Marla and Nancy. Evelyn was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, creating many happy memories for her family. Each of her grandkids held a special place in her heart. She enjoyed reading and had a talent for writing poetry. She sold Avon for 30 years because she loved interacting with people and giving gifts. Evelyn was a longtime member of Ridglea West Baptist Church which is now Agape Baptist Church. She shared her faith with family and friends. We would like to thank Odyssey Hospice and the staff at Stonegate Nursing Center, especially Celeste, Ramona, Veronica, Kim, Doctors Robert and Allan Kelly, and many others for their loving care of our precious mother. Evelyn was preceded in death by her husband, Hardin; her parents; sister; and two brothers. Survivors: Daughters, Marla Pope and husband, Dwaine, of Longview, Nancy Reisor and husband, Gary, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Misty, Mindy, Kyle, Katie, Hannah and Caden; and great-grandchildren, Matthias, Elliot and Abby.
