Hector Efrain Michel
July 3,1959 - December 7,2002
Hector Efrain Michel, a 43-year resident of Mojave passed away Saturday, December 7, 2002. Hector was born in Mexico on July 3, 1959 to Lorenzo and Meria Michel. Hector was a well-respected member of the community and was involved in many youth organizations. He was always willing to help area organizations and over the years played Santa Claus for local Girl Scouts, elementary schools and Head Start. He drove youth groups to events and was also known as a generous man, offering financial help to those in need.
Hector loved fishing and enjoyed camping. He was a truck driver for Superior Sod in Tehachapi at the time of his death. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Mojave for many years.
A dedicated family man, Hector is survived by his parents. Lorenzo and Meria Michel of California City; his loving wife of nine years, Wynema; five children, Wendi, David, Irene, Leslie and Karen, all of Mojave; his brothers and sisters; many nieces and nephews; grandchildren and his many friends. Hector was a very loving man and will be remembered in the hearts of all who loved him.
Visitation will be held at Stickel Mortuary in Mojave on Friday, December 13, 2002 from 4 to 8 p.m. Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m.
A Mass will be said at St. Francis Catholic Church on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at 10 a.m. Burial at East Kern Cemetery will follow.
Family and friends will gather immediately after burial, at St. Francis rectory, to remember Hector's life.
St. Francis Catholic Church is located at 15383 Myer Rd. Mojave. Arrangements by Stickel Mortuary.
