Virginia Reeves Pratt, 92, of Bountiful, Utah, died March 18, 2004, at Banner Mesa Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona. She traveled to Mesa on March 13, to attend the baptism of a great-granddaughter.

She was born December 5, 1911, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Bertram Frances Reeves and Winifred Pettit Reeves, the oldest of their three children. She attended McKinley Elementary School, South Jr. High School, L.D.S. High School, and graduated from L.D.S. Business College with a Business Diploma.

She married Claron Ure Pratt in the Salt Lake Temple on October 3, 1934. Claron preceded Virginia in death last April 27, 2003. They had four children: Robert LeGrande Pratt (Heilke) of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Richard Stephen Pratt, deceased (Carolyn) of Midway, Utah; Jeanne Pratt Groberg (Joseph) of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Sharon Pratt Wilbur (Curt) of Bountiful, Utah.

Virginia and Claron started their family in Salt Lake but moved with Claron's business, military and airline careers to Glenwood Springs, Colorado; Portland, Oregon; Long Beach, California; Palm Springs, California; Denver and Littleton, Colorado; and spent their last 25 years together in Bountiful, Utah. Virginia has lived this last year with her daughters in Idaho Falls and Bountiful.

She and Claron raised their family in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Virginia was first and last a loyal and loving wife and mother. She enjoyed serving in the auxiliaries of the wards and stakes of the church where her family lived. Her hobby was learning. She took classes in everything from cake decorating to upholstery, with ceramics, copper enameling, lapidary, and millinery in between. She read voraciously. She sewed all her own clothes and those of her family while they were under her wing. She was dignified, gentle, patient, and always appreciative. She had a practical and sunny disposition and optimism that lifted the spirits of all those around her.

Virginia is survived by three children: Robert LeGrande Pratt (Heilke); Jeanne Pratt Groberg (Joseph); and Sharon Pratt Wilbur (Curt); a daughter-in-law, Carolyn Poulton Pratt; 19 grandchildren, and 26 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning, March 23, at the Mueller Park Stake Center, 1800 Ea. Mueller Park Rd., Bountiful, Utah, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be the hour before at the church. Interment will be at the Bountiful City Cemetery.
