Lynn Coakley of 209 Court St., Campbellsville, son of the late V. D. Coakley and Mrs. Lillie Gupton Coakley, was born on January 27, 1906 in Green Co. He died Thursday, March 5th at 8:35 a.m. due to a truck-auto accident near Magnolia, Ky., on U.S. Highway 31-E. He had left Campbellsville going to Hodgenville, Buffalo and Magnolia on his regular route for the Chappell's Products Inc. Mr. Coakley was a route salesman for the Chappell's Dairy Inc. for some six years. He was employed by them when they first came to Taylor County. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church where he served as Assistant Sunday School Superintendent for several years. He united in marriage to Miss Hazel Jarboe, December 23, 1925 and to this union four daughters and one son were born. Surviving are: Miss Ann Coakley at home; Mrs. Earnest Montgomery of Jackson, Tenn.; Mrs. Gerald Carroll of Milton, Fla.; and Mrs. Earnest McMahan of Hodgenville. Earnest Lynn preceded in dad in death on October 13, 1951 while serving in the Korean War. Besides his wife and children, he is survived by one brother and three sisters: Paul Coakley, Mrs. Covie Russell, Mrs. Vird Henderson, all of Campbellsville; and Mrs. W. O. Penick of Greensburg; also 8 grandchildren and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held in the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church on March 8th at 2:00 p.m. with Drs. D. L. Druien and J. Chester Badgett officiating. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. The pallbearers were: Wayne Kessler, Homer Kirtley, Homer Carter, James Deener, Ellis Perkins, and J. B. Crawley. Honorary pallbearers were: James Chappell, Bob Cheatham, Bill Moody, Clarence Green, Sid Warren, Crawley Campbell, Dwight Sandidge, Chas. Sparks, Art Constant, B. G. Wells, Dannie Munford, S. Benningfield, Fred Clemm, J. D. Gadberry, Merle Phillips, Jimmie Ware, and Edd Hall.
