The Rev. Brummit Bryant, a Primitive Baptist elder, was a son of Tarlton Bryant and Jane Henry of the English Creek Community of Cocke County. He married Elizabeth "Betsey" Hicks on Dec. 16, 1840. Their children were Brummit Jr., Jane, Mary Ann, Sarah Madaline, Perlina, and William Tarlton "W.T."

Brummit Jr. married Amanda Denton. They had a son, William Arthur.

Jane and Mary Ann never married.

Sarah Madaline married William Hicks. They raised a family in the English Creek Community.

Perlina married Luther Farley. One of their sons, Thaddeus/Thaddis Farley, who remained in the in the English Creek area, has a Find A Grave (FAG)memorial (#87395626). Another son, William Brummit Farley, lived in northeastern Alabama and died in Chattanooga on May 24, 1964 at age 84.

W.T.'s family, a dozen of whom are buried in his family cemetery (just off Friendship Road), is well documented with FAG memorials.
