Lucy and Charles three sons moved to Washington State. Leonard homesteaded next to Lucy's brother, S 'Frank' Corbin and Frank Corbin Burrus (namesake) lived just up the road. Of Lucy's three sons, Leonard Burrus is the only son who permanently settled in Olympia, Washington State; Thomas and Frank Corbin Burrus moved on. Lucy's younger brother, Jessie Allen Corbin settled in Bellingham, Washington State and Silas 'Frank' Corbin in Tonasket, Washington.

OBITUARY: DEATH OF MRS. BURRUS
Mrs. Lucy Burrus, passed away Friday, April 25, at her home a few miles north of La Cygne, after a long illness. Mrs. Burrus was 73 years old and had lived in the home where her death occurred twenty years.
A funeral service was conducted by Rev. Fish at the Methodist church Monday afternoon, and burial was in Oak Lawn cemetery.
Lucy Jeanette Corbin was born May 8, 1857, near Poplar Plains, Fleming county, Kentucky.
She moved to Menard county, Illinois, with her parents in 1875, and was married to Charles Wesley Burrus February 5, 1879.
In 1884 they moved to Bates county, Missouri, living there until 1910, when they moved to the home now owned by them near La Cygne.
To them three sons were born: Thomas Edward Burrus, Port Arthur, Texas; Leonard Davis Burrus, Oympia, Wash.; Frank Corbin Burrus, Wichita.
She also leaves six grandchildren, one sister, Mattie Henderson (Martha Lee "Mattie" Corbin Henderson), Lawrence, Kansas.; three brothers, Thomas Corbin, of St. Joe, Ill.; Frank Corbin (Silas Franklin Corbin), Tonasket, Wash., and Jesse Allen Corbin, Sumas, Wash.; and other relatives.
Mrs. Burrus was a devoted wife and mother and her passing will leave a vacancy in the home that can never be filled. A good neighbor and kind friend, she will be missed in the community in which she lived so many years.
