Services held For Jack Harman Of Mojave

Jack Valentine Harman, an employee of Reno's Cafe in Mojave, passed away on Oct. 10, 1964 at the Tehachapi Valley Hospital in Tehachapi.
Mr. Harman was born in Altona, Pa. on August 5, 1902 and was sixty-two years of age at the time of his death. He was a professional boxer under the name of Jack Ryan, and fought in Bakersfield, Los Angeles, Chicago and New York before retiring from the ring.
He lived with his wife, Bessie at 15616 K Street, where she managed the Trinity Hotel.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Betty J. Johnson, and two grandchildren, of Bakersfield, and a sister, Gayle Rodgers, of Topeka, Kansas.
He was buried at the Mojave District Cemetery Oct. 13, 1964 following 2:00 p.m. services at the Mojave Assembly of God Church with Rev. J. D. Countryman officiating. Stickel mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
