Irene was born and lived almost all of her life in Randolph Co. She was active in the Main Street Christian Church as organist and church secretary as well as many of the groups and classes there. She enjoyed her participation in Eastern Star serving as Worthyu Matron and in Jobs Daughters as one of the founders of that organization in Winchester. Her later years were spent in retirement first in Florida with her husband John, then in Virginia with her daughter Phyllis DePoy and finally in Texas with her son John Daniel.
