Passes away After long illness

Alfred B. Smith, 47, of 3275 Gregory Drive, Mojave, passed away Nov. 7 at his home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Mississippi Nov. 22, 1912, he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and was a resident of California 20 years, with 16 of these in Mojave. Prior to his illness he was a U.S. Mail Carrier.
Only survivor is his widow Velma who taught in Mojave schools until last year.
Graveside. services were held Wednesday, Nov. 9 at 2:30 p.m.
Interment was in Mojave Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Mojave in charge of arrangements.
