Born, 29 May, 1859 near Olmsteadville, Essex County, New York. Kate had an older sister, also named Catherine, who pasted away in 1847. Irish families often named children after an older sister or brother who passed away in childhood, or perhaps too, Catherine was a favorite name. Kate (as she was known) married a Thomas Earley on 7 February, 1878, at Glens Falls, New York. They had nine children, (as per census records) Francis Bernard, born 2 February, 1879; Mary Elizabeth, born 12 November, 8181; William Thomas, born 14 November, 1883; Leo Joseph, born 8 February, 1896; Kathleen Francis, born 29 April, 1900. Thomas was a lumberjack in upper New York State, and was said that he was quite a boozer. He was gone many days at a time and the family seldom saw him. Kate past away Sunday, 6 May, 1917, at the age of 57 years, 11 months, 7 days, buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, Glens Falls, New York. Tom lived with his daughter Kathleen and son-in-law John Phelan, in Boston, Massachusetts, from 1926-1927. He passed away on 28 July, 1927 at the age of 70 years, 11 months, 26 days, is buried beside Kate in St. Mary's Cemetery, Glens Falls, New York
