Obituary: Jefferson City Post Tribune, December 2003

Christine J. Bax, 86, of St. Anthony, died December 31, 2003, at
her home. She was born in St. Anthony on February 18, 1917, a daughter of
Ben and Rosa Steinman Dubbert. On November 23, 1946, in St. Anthony, she
was married to Henry P. Bax, who preceded her in death on September 13,
1993.

She was a member of the St. Anthony of Padua Church, the
Sunshine Gals, and the Iberia VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Survivors include: two sons, Daniel Bax and Larry Bax, both of
St. Elizabeth; two daughters, Debbie Hill of Iberia and Diane Bax of the
home; one brother, Cletus Dubbert of Jefferson City; two sisters, Helen
Gerdes of Boonville and Alvina Mulchek of St. Louis; nine grandchildren and
4 great-grandchildren.

A son, Bernie Bax, was killed in action in Vietnam. She was
also preceded in death by a daughter, Henretta Bax; a brother, Herman
Dubbert; and a sister, Dorothy Milloway.

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, January 1, 2004,
at St. Anthony of Padua Church in St. Anthony with a rosary at 4:00 p.m. and
a rosary at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be from 10-11 a.m. on Friday at
the church.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday at St.
Anthony of Padua Church with Rev. M. Christopher Smith officiating.
Interment will be in St. Anthony Cemetery. Memorial contributions are
suggested to the Missouri River Hospice. Arrangements are under the
direction of Rekus Funeral Home in Iberia.
