Nadene Rude, 91, of Ute and Castana, Iowa, died Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Danville Care
Center, Danville, Iowa. She was born February 12, 1921 at Battle Creek, Iowa, the daughter of
Charles and Goldie Kelly Johnson. She married Eldon Waples on June 10, 1942 at the Little Brown
Church in the Vale at Nashua, Iowa. They later divorced and on July 22, 1980, in Onawa, Iowa she
married Clayton Rude, who died October 7, 2006.
Mrs. Rude was a graduate of Battle Creek High School, a cook for many years at the Maple Valley
Community Schools in Mapleton, Iowa and of the Christian faith. She enjoyed bowling, crafts,
making ceramics, gardening and flowers.
She is survived by two sons; Steve (Donita) Waples of Middletown, Dan (Sue) Waples of Muncie,
IN, two daughters; Mickey (Micheal) Levich of Tucson, AZ and Patricia (Leonard) Moseley of Cedar
Hills, TX, two step-sons; Terry and Bryan Rude of Ute, Iowa, 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
