Franklin Ellsworth "Skinny" Wentz died Sunday evening in the Coaldale State General Hospital. He was the husband of Mary nee Urban Wentz. They observed their 55th wedding anniversary on 23 Sept 1989.
Born and raised in Tamaqua, he was the second born of three children to George and Rebecca Rudolff Wentz.
Prior to retiring, he was employed as a clerk in the signal department of the Reading Railroad for 50 years. And he worked as an assessor in Tamaqua's North Ward in the 1930's and 1940's.
He was a member of St John's Lutheran Church in Tamaqua. And he was one of the original founders of the Keystone Fish and Hunt Club in Tamaqua. He also belonged to the Brotherhood of Railway Clerks, the Schuylkill County Volunteer Fireman's Association, the Scott Encampment and the Citizen's Fire Company, both of Tamaqua.

Besides his widow, he is survived by a daughter Mrs Joan (Eugene) Fritz, daughter-in-law Mrs Franklin (Helen nee Lazovi) Wentz of Tamaqua, a son Richard (Georgene nee Heflfinger) Wentz of Owl Creek, three grandsons, Richard and David of Owl Creek and Robert(Peggy nee Bromfield), . And a great grandson Robert Wentz II all of Nanticoke PA.

He was proceeded in death by his parents George & Rebecca Wentz, his half brother Howard Wentz, sister Mrs. Mabel (Charles) Walker, brother Donald (Martha nee Hughes) Wentz, son Franklin Wentz Jr, and three infant granddaughters, Cathelene, Lisa and Linda Jean, all of Tamaqua PA.

Funeral Service was held Wednesday 14 Mar 1990, at Jon M. Zizelmann Funeral Home on Broad Street in Tamaqua with Rev Willard J Uhler officiating. Interment at Odd Fellows Cemetery Tamaqua PA
