Harold served as a Fire Controlman First Class, U.S.S. LST 448, U.S. Navy during World War II.


He enlisted from the State of New York on October 9, 1942.


Harold was "Killed In Action", along with 18 of his shipmates at Niarovai Bay, Vella Lavella Island, in the Solomon Islands by Japanese dive bombers while unloading the LST. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
