Alfred was born June 27 1920 in Clay County, IL to Leo C. and Katherine (Kern) Lybarger
Alfred was a US Navy Veteran and served in the Pacific Theater in WW II. He was a member of the American Legion and the Knights of Columbus.
Alfred was a farmer, an electrician and was retired from AMF as a maintenance foreman. He also enjoyed beekeeping. He was a lifelong member of Holy Cross parish.
Alfred married Wilma (Lutz) Lybarger on November 14, 1944 at Forty Martyrs Church in Tuscola, IL
Alfred is survived by his wife, Wilma (Lutz) Lybarger, son Robert Lybarger of Salem, son Myron Lybarger and wife Joyce of Dundas, IL, son John Lybarger and wife Diann of Ste. Marie, IL, daughter Linda Kocher and husband Keith of Claremont, IL, son David Lybarger and wife Cindy of Nashville, TN, daughter Louise Lybarger of Newton and partner Louis Gassmann of Olney, son Paul Lybarger and wife Elizabeth of Wendelin, 16 grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren,several nieces and nephews
Alfred is preceded in death by parents, brother John Lybarger and sister Marie (Lybarger) Lindsey and daughter-in-law Susan (Smith) Lybarger.
