Death takes Dick Keyes of Mojave
Memorial Services by the members of the Mojave Elks Lodge were held at the Stickel Chapel on Inyo Street in Mojave at 10 a.m. on Wed. Dec. 8th, 1965 for Richard Wayne Keyes, 40, of Mojave.
Mr. Keyes, who was born on Aug. 6, 1925 in Conneticut passed away in a Bakersfield Hospital on Dec. 4, 1965 following a sudden illness at his home.
He had lived in Calif. for 20 years and in Kern County for 15 and was employed as a bartender at the Mojave Club at the time of his death.
He is survived by two daughters, Mary Etta Harte, and Miss Peggy Keyes and a granddaughter, Melody Dawn Harte, also a step-son,. Bruce Keyes, all of Mojave.
Other survivors include his father, Truman B. Keyes, a brother, Irvin Keyes, and four sisters: Myrtle Stanley, Mary Aubin, Claire Rice and Clara Dawning, all of Quaker Hill, Connecticut.
Interment was in the Mojave District Cemetery with Stickel Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
