Pvt Sharpe was killed by friendly fire on 19 Dec 1944 as the Battle of the Bulge was beginning, but was reported MIA on 25 Dec 1944. He was a member of Company H 393rd Infantry.
He was recovered on 16 Sept 2003 in the forest NE of Rocherath, Belgum, close to the German border. He was burried in Uvalda, Georgia on 30 Jan 2005.
He was recovered thanks to the efforts of the MIA project.
