Johann Wilhelm Hoehne was born in Jamaica, Sternberg, Brandenberg, Prussia. He married Karoline Emilie Louise Born and they emmigrated to America on the steamer, Thuringia from Hamberg, Germany. They arrived at Castle Garden, New York on April 30, 1874.
Wilhelm and Emilie came with their children: Auguste, Karl, Anna Marie, Anna Helene and Gustav.
They settled at Bethany, Minnesota. Wilhelm was 57 years old at the time and was a farmer.
On November 4th, 1876, Wilhelm received his U. S. citizenship.
After Wilhelm died, his wife Emilie went to live with her daughter Augusta near Addison, North Dakota.
