Death takes 25 year resident

Clyde Humphrey, deputy tax assesor (sic) for the desert area the past 12 years, passed away Dec. 5, 1960 in Mojave Hospital. He had been a California resident for 34 years and in Mojave for 25 of these.
Mr. Humphrey was born in Mammoth, Utah on June 19, 1900. He was a Veteran of World War I and Past Commander of Mojave Post V.F.W. and World War I organizations. Clvde also worked as a miner.and hoist man at Atolia Mining; Company and a short time at the Golden Queen Mine. A graduate of Heneger Business College of Salt Lake City, he also served a short time as Mojave Postmaster, succeeding Johnny Nestor.
Survivors include his widow, LaRee of 15853 M Street, Mojave; four daughters, Carol Gorman, Mojave, Barbara Theriot, Whittier, Anna Hill, Lancaster. and Lois Bridges, Honolulu; three brothers. Joe, Magna, Utah, Owen, Salt Lake City, and Cleve of Pleasant Grove, Utah; three sisters. Fay Crammer. Springville, Utah. Louise Tigue, Southgate. Calif. and: Myrtle Briers, Salt Lake City.
Services were held in the Mojave Latter Day Saints Church with Brothers J. Henry Olson, George Zirkle, Frank Andreason and Donald Baily officiating. Military graveside services were held in Mojave Cemetery with a firing squad from Edwards Air Force Base.
Turner Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
