Rites held for Mrs. Ella Hickok
Death claimed Mrs. Ella E Hickok, 89, last Saturday June 17. She died at Kern County General Hospital of a heart condition. Funeral services were conducted yesterday at the Mojave Desert Chapel by the Rev. C. B. Tyler.
Mrs. Hickok came to the desert in 1934 and homesteaded 160 acres of land that is now part of Edwards Air Force Base. Mrs. Hickok was born in Kansas.
She had four children, of which one survives her, Mrs. Bessie Curless of Rosamond.
The eldest of five living generations, Mrs. Hickok is survived by her daughter, 13 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren.
