Mr. Art LaPoint, 77, passed away Saturday morning May 14 at Tehachapi Valley Hospital. A 27-year resident of Mojave, Mr. LaPoint had been quite ill for the past few months.
Born Nov. 18, 1885 in Niles, Michigan, He had formerly been in business here at the old Bandhauer Store, managing the produce department. Later he operated the Mojave Variety Store in partnership with Willa Fleming. The store was sold to present owners in March' of 1956.
Mr. LaPoint's only known survivor is a nephew, Robert H. LaPoint of Kalamazoo, Mich.
Masonic services are pending with Stickel Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
