Ross "Leon" Hawkins
Ross "Leon" Hawkins, 78, passed away on May 18, 1997. Leon will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Imogene "Jean," daughters Barbara, Janelle, Betty and her husband Ron, his grandchildren Kristi, Royal, Tracey, and their spouses, and seven great-grandchildren. Leon is also survived by his brother, three sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Forty-year residents of Mojave, Leon and Jean moved into the Antelope Valley in 1955. Leon retired from the Kern Country Road Department after 25 years as a heavy-equipment operator. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Mojave and a veteran of World War II. Leon loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter
