Melvin Lee Lewis
Melvin Lee Lewis, a long time Boron resident, passed away on November 9, 1997. Melvin was born in Rush Springs, Oklahoma on January 29, 1927, and moved to Kern County in 1947.
He was a driller and blaster for U.S. Borax in Boron. He served in the Army during World War II from 1945 to 1947.
He is survived by his wife Robbie Lewis of Boron, sons, Michael and Daniel of Boron, daughters Berniece Nash of Boron, Debra Wilson of Bakersfield, brothers Donald L. of Bakersfield, C.L. of Texas and sister, Betty Castro of Oregon, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on November 13, 1997, at 1 p.m. at Stickel Chapel with burial at East Kern Cemetery in Mojave
