Dorothy Adams O'Brien, "Dot", passed away at St. Dominic Hospital following a brief illness on January 19, 2013. Services will be held on Thursday, January 24th, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Northminster Baptist Church at 3955 Ridgewood Road, Jackson, MS. Interment will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Dot was born on January 1, 1926, in Columbia, MS to Norman and Mary Elizabeth Rawls Adams. After moving to Jackson she met the love of her life, John Albert O'Brien, Sr. They were long standing members of Northminster and both played an active role in the early years of the church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Albert, and by her sister, Mary Fay Adams Warnhoff (Dr. Edward Warnhoff, Jr).

Survivors include her son, John Albert O'Brien, Jr., his wife Cynthia, and step sons, Eric and Gregg Lyon, all of Pontomac, MD.

Other survivors include nieces, Linda Warnhoff Alvarado (Robert) of Pensacola, FL, and Lisa Warnhoff Kinn (Brett) of Tioga, LA.

Also surviving are great niece, Ashley Alvarado Cannon (Andrew) of Atlanta, GA and great nephews, Tony, Timothy, and Phillip Kinn, and one great-great nephew, Harry Edward Cannan.
