Mrs. Edith Danford, of Decatur, formerly of Rochester, and Springfield, died at 1 p.m. yesterday at Decatur and Macon County hospital in Decatur. She was 86 years old.

She was born Dec. 9, 1868, in Rydot. Mrs. Danford was married to Marshall Crain, who died in 1909. In 1914, she married Logan Danford, who died in 1947. She was a member of the West Side Church of Christ in Springfield.

Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Marie Luster, Mrs. George Funderburk, Mrs. Kermit Shibley, and Mrs. John Hutton, all of Decatur; Mrs. W.C. Copeland, of Rochester, and Mrs. Frank Glover, of Taylorville; two sons, Hiram Crain, of Decatur, and Chester Crain, of Rockford; 16 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.

The body is at the Monson funeral home, in Decatur, where funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow. Burial will be in Owaneco cemetery. (Daily Illinois State Journal, Springfield, IL, August 11, 1954)
