Richard Lopez Dies of Gunshot

Richard H. Lopez, 28, who made his home at 15212 Nadene St. in Mojave was pronounced dead on arrival at Kern Valley Hospital in Mt. Mesa last Friday evening, from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Kern Co. Sheriffs deputies from Kernville were called to the scene at Lake Isabella, reported that the angle of the wound almost certainly ruled out any question of foul play.
Lopez was on a fishing trip accompanied by Blanche McGarry and Phil Raynor, both of Mojave. Miss McGarry told the deputies that she saw Lopez put the .22 caliber, 9 shot revolver to his head and pull the trigger. Lopez was standing near the edge of the lake, about 25 ft. from the camper truck that the party was using.
