RUN OVER
While crossing the railroad tracks near the town crossing at the north end of town on Monday morning last, Tom Gum, well known man in town, was hit by a helper engine returning to the yards from Monolith.
Mr. Gum had the fingers of his right hand amputated, received a crushed leg and orher
injuries which necessitated his removal to the Tehachapi hospital from where he was later removed to a Bakersfield hospital. Inquiry at the hospital yesterday elicited the information that his condition was only fair.

TO LIE IN STATE
Funeral services for Tommy Gum. well known man of Mojave who died last Friday night at 8:25 o'clock in a Bakersfield hospital as a result of a railroad accident at the north of town crossing when he was run down by a helper engine, will be held on Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
The body will lie in state in the Chapel of the O'Donnell Funeral Home on Kay Street all day Thursday and he will be buried in the Mojave cemetery, according to Edmund Johnson, mortician in charge of the local unit of the O'Donnell Funeral Home
Anyone wishing to view the remains may do so at the Chapel.
