Abraham/Abram, is the son of John McKitrick and Mary Vaughn, both born Belmont Ohio.
Abraham served in the Civil War, enlisting as Private, Union, June 23, 1861 in Decatur, Illinois, Company A, 21st Infantry Regiment Illinois.
He received a disability discharge, April 30, 1862.
Abraham enlisted again, Promoted to Full Privateate (Reduced to ranks). Enlisted as a Corporal on August 14, 1862, Company G, 116th Infantry Regiment Illinois on September 30, 1862.
Mustered out June 7, 1865 at Washington, DC.


He married Amanda 'Mandy' Jane GROVES, October 11, 1867, Noble County, Ohio.
