Former Resident F. MacRae
Funeral services were held in Lancaster on September 10 for Frank Weston MacRae, a former resident and restaurant owner in Mojave.
Mr. MacRae was born February 13, 1896 in Machias, Maine, and passed away September 7 in a Lancaster Hospital at the age of 81.
He married the former Gladys Opal Harrison in 1926 in Florida, and they came to the Antelope Valley in 1944. They owned and operated Mac's Cafe, "The Best in the West", in a trolley car on Sierra Hwy where the present Arco service station now is. Mrs. MacRae passed away in Mojave in 1949.
Mr. MacRae is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Samuel Logan and Mrs. Sherma Hanks, both of Lancaster; four brothers; one sister; seven grand-children and one great grandchild.
Rev. John Tigner, Central Christian Church, Lancaster, officiated at the services. Interment was in the E. Kern Cemetery in Mojave. Mumaw Funeral Home, Lancaster, was in charge of arrangements.
