Final arrangements for Leo Matousek are still uncertain at press time, but tentative plans will be for a funeral mass at St. Francis Church in Mojave at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14th.
Mr. Matousek had been a long-time resident of Mojave, and had been a popular bartender at Reno's for 10 years until just recently. He also served in the Merchant Marines during World War II.
He was born in Pittsburg, Penn. Feb 22, 1911 and passed away in a Lancaster hospital Oct. 11. He was 61. Leo had made his home at Mojave Motel on Sierra Hwy. and was a member of Mojave Elks Lodge #2059 in Mojave.
He is survived by a son, Daniel, Canoga Park.
The Rosary will be said Friday, Oct. 13, 7:00 p.m. in the Stickel Mortuary Chapel. Father James Maloney will officiate at the Rosary and Mass. Visitation hours will be at the chapel during the afternoon and evening of Oct. 13. Arrangements are in charge of Stickel Mortuaries.
