Edith M. Moore Taken by Death
Mrs. Edith Matthews Moore, 63, of 157½ Lyon-st., NE, business woman here many years, died late Monday at Butterworth hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Moore was born at Chase and moved to Grand Rapids in 1916. For 23 years she was manager of the foreign department of the Grand Rapids Credit Men's association. Illness forced her to retire in January.
She was a former president of the Grand Rapids Business and Professional Women's association and for many years was active in the Grand Rapids Credit Women's association and Order of the Eastern Star.
She attended First Church of Christ, Scientist.
Mrs. Moore is survived by one sister, Helen M. Slattery of Grand Rapids.
Funeral services will be held at the Greenhoe's chapel at 2 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery.
