Mrs. C.O. Sue Thomas Hines, age 101 but Mrs. Hines says she was 102, of Rome passed away Tuesday October 2, 2012 at her residence.
Mrs. Hines was born May 10, 1911, in Clay County, Alabama a daughter of the late James Winston Thomas, and Lavada Belle Cook Thomas. She grew up on the family farm on Sand Mountain, Alabama, moving to Rome and Floyd County in 1930. Mrs. Hines was a member of Riverside Baptist Church. She was a devoted, wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Hines was an avid Alabama and Atlanta Braves Fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford Otis Hines, in 2004, and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include sons, Rex Michael Hines, and his wife, JoAnn, Marietta; Eddie Hines, and his wife, Carol, Rome; daughters, Laura Hines DiPrima, Rome; Lesley Hines Tucker, and her husband, Roland, Rome; grandchildren, Jeff Hines, Kennesaw; Winston Hines, Rome; Cyndee Ferguson, Rome; Christy Pledger, Rome; Richard DiPrima,Rome; Justin Hines, Chattanooga, TN; Jason DiPrima, Rome; Nick Tucker, Rome; 11 great grandchildren,. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 P.M. Friday October 5, 2012, in the Chapel of Parnick Jennings, Sr.'s Good Shepherd Funeral Home, with Dr. Phillip May, officiating. Interment will follow in Oaknoll Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of service.
Pallbearers include the following gentlemen and are asked to meet at the funeral home by 3:00 p.m. Friday, Jeff Hines, Winston Hines, Richard DiPrima, , Jason DiPrima, Nick Tucker, Trent Ferguson.
