Funeral services were conducted last Tuesday at the Community Church in Mojave for Mrs. R.C. FRANKLIN, Sr. who died after only a few days illness.
Mrs. FRANKLIN and her husband had lived in Mojave for more than 25 years and last year the couple celebrated their golden wedding anniversary with a reception at the Amaranth Temple.
A member of the Amaranth and Eastern Star Lodges, Mrs. FRANKLIN was one of the founders of the First Southern Baptist Church of Mojave. She was also a member of the Woodmen Circle.
Mrs. FRANKLIN would have been 72 later this month having been born in Dublin, Texas September 27, 1888. As Willie ROSS, she married Rufus FRANKLIN in Krebs, Oklahoma, April 9, 1909.
She is survived by her husband and their four children who were all here for the services. They are Clarence FRANKLIN of Montana; Mrs Walter BLACK of Nebraska; Mrs. Robert TURNER of Texas; and Col. R.C. FRANKLIN, Jr. of Virginia. In addition, nine Grandchildren and two Great Grandchildren are among the survivors. Most of her surviving six sisters and three brothers from various points in California and Texas were present.
Mr. and Mrs. FRANKLIN moved to Mojave with the development of the Golden Queen mine and since WWII have lived in a home that they built at 2015 Inyo Street.
Reverand Jack COURTNEY of the First Baptist Church conducted the service with Reverand James C. THOMPSON of the Community Congregational Church participating. Mrs. Myra CRAIG was the organist with Mrs. Murray SCOTT and Mr. Merlin HAMILTON singing Mrs. FRANKLIN's favorite hymn in duet.
Pallbearers were Parks YOUNG, Edwin STICKLE, William COFFEE, Clarence COLLINS, A.J. STUCKEY and Blaine GLEASON.
Internment Mojave Cemetery in Mojave, California. Services directed by Turner Funeral Home in Mojave, California. Services held Tuesday September 13, 1960, 2:00 P.M. Community Congregational Church.

Pallbearers Were Messrs. Parks Young, Edwin Stickle, William Coffee, Clarence Collins, A. J. Stuckey and Blain Gleason. Interment was at Mojave Cemetery. Turner Funeral Home handled arrangements.
At the request of the immediate family relatives and friends made memorial contributions to the Baptist Church building funds.
