Services Saturday . For Oscar Forness
Funeral services will be held at Stickel Chapel in Mojave on Saturday morning, Feb. 20th for Oscar Bernhart Forness, 64, who passed away in a Bakersfield Hospital on Feb. 14th. Mr. Forness was born July 6, 1900 in Hegra, Norway and had been in California for 40 years and Kern County 11 years.
He made his home at 2665 Shasta Street, Mojave, and was preceded in death a few weeks ago by his wife.
Mr. Forness was a member of the Carpenters Union and the Jordan Lodge in Huntington Park. He was a retired carpenter at the time of his death.
Dr. Warren Hitz of Hope Lutheran Church will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Mojave Cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Maryln Schaufhauser of Altadena; two brothers, Olaf Forness of Puyallup, Wash. and Albert Forness of Fargo, N. Dakota. Also three sisters; Lydia Stenerson of Pasadena, Petra York of Fargo, N. Dakota and Julie Hoistod of Devil's Lake, N. Dakota. One granddaughter also survives him.
