Services For Wm. Fairhurst
Services for William P. Fairhurst, 59, a 14-year resident of Mojave, were held on Feb. 15. Mr. Fairhurst passed away from an apparent heart attack while on a fishing trip with his wife near Parker, Arizona, on Feb. 11.
Mr. Fairhurst was born on Aug. 18, 1911 in Barnston, Washington. He came to Kern County in 1937, and moved to Mojave in 1956. He had been employed as an iron worker for the Amber Steel Co. in Bakersfield .
He is survived by his wife, Josephine, at the home, 3248 Gregory Dr.; two sons, Richard, Bakersfield, and Gregory, Ft. Collins, Colorado; a daughter, Tonya Tipton, and a sister, Mrs. Ima CorrelI,both of Ventura; a brother, Ray Evans, Westport, Wash.; a stepston, George F. Hodgkinson, Mojave; two stepdaughters, Francine Hawley, Mojave, and Gloria Jean Zeimet, Lansing, Iowa; and 13 step grandchildren.
The final services were conducted by the Rev. Jeffrey Utter of the Mojave Community Church at the Stickel Mortuary Chapel. Interment was in the Mojave Cemetery.
