Manuel Esparza Found dead At age 48
Long-time Mojave resident, Manuel J. Esparza was pronounced dead on arrival at Tehachapi Valley Hospital at 7:00 a.m. Sept. 15th.
His family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions he made to the Mojave Medical Center fund.
Rosary was recited Sept 18th, and funeral services have been scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19th at 9:00 a.m. in St. Francis Catholic Church. Father James Malone will officiate.
Manuel Esparza leaves as survivors his wife Erma, son Michael and daughter Mary all of Mojave; and a sister, Cira Espana of Mexico.
Born June 17, 1920 in Mexico, Mr. Esparza had been employed by Monolith Cement Co. for the past 10 years. He had been a resident of this county and state for 25 years.
Despondent over a leg injury which kept him off work, Mr. Esparza apparently passed away from a self inflicted gun wound. The victim was transparted from his home at 15800 M Street to Tehachapi Hospital by Morris Ambulance, after local Sheriff's deputies were called to the residence by Mrs. Esparza.
