Mayville people were severely shocked Saturday, when they learned of the death of Mrs. Albert Paustian of Brillion, who died at the Green Bay hospital.

Although she left this city with her family in 1907, she retained her love for the home town and its people, and it was her wish to spend her declining years among the scenes of her childhood as soon as the opportunity made it possible.

Mrs. Albert Paustian, nee Louise Naber, was born in this city on August 22, 1864, the second oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dietrich Naber. Mr. Naber was a pioneer merchant of this city, and the deceased became a clerk in her father's store when she was 12 years of age, and many people remember her for her kindness.

On Nov. 2, 1895, she was married to Albert Paustian, the oldest son of another pioneer, Ferdinand Paustian in whom flour, grist, and saw mill and electric light plant the young groom was employed until 1907, when they moved to Brillion, where they have since resided, and where the deceased has a host of friends.

Four children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Paustian while residents of this city. Oscar, now at Manitowoc; Hugo, who died in 1918; Marie, died in 1919, and Albert, jr., at Cleveland, Ohio.

Besides the husband and two children and their families the deceased is survived by the following sisters and brothers, Mathilda, Lucy, Anna, and Hedwig, Mrs. Henry Wegner, and Adolph, all of this city. Her mother preceded her in death in 1897, while the father died in 1901. A sister, Della, died in 1928, and a brother, Oscar, died in 1931.

Mrs. Paustian died on Saturday afternoon at the Green Bay hospital, where she had passed through an operation the previous Monday for tumor. She had been complaining of not feeling well since our homecoming here in July.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday morning at the late home at Brillion under the auspices of the Eastern Star, and the body was taken to the D. Naber home here, where Judge E. H. Naber eulogized the deceased, after which the remains were placed in the family plot at Graceland cemetery.

The body was brought here from Brillion for burial, services being held at the Naber home on Bridge street, where Judge E. H. Naber spoke. Miss Ruth Strampe, accompanied by Miss Kaetchen Wegner, sang "Traeumerei." Mrs. Lucille Paustian, and a double quartet also sang. Howard Leppla of Brillion and Judge E. H. Naber also spoke at the graveside at Graceland cemetery, and the double quartet sang a last selection. Among the out of town people who attended the funeral were Henry Naber, Chicago; Otto Ruedebusch, Brownsville; Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Lehmann, Knowles; Mrs. Alice Plagemann, Miss Frances Matthes, Mrs. Hattie Pagel, of Hustisford.
