The funeral services of Mrs. Lucy P.D. Bardwell, who died Tuesday evening at 10 o'clock, occurred at the house at 2:30 p.m. today. Mother Bardwell, as she was best known, was 84 years old, and had lived in Marion since 1840. She was the mother of a large family of children.
1850 census has Lucy P.D. Bardwell age 45 born Ohio; John M. Bardwell age 21 born Indiana, Eliza A. Bardwell age 16 Indiana, Lydia R. Bardwell age 8 born Iowa, Lucian Bardwell age 6 born Iowa and Leonard Bardwell age 3 born Iowa.

Edit I sent for additional middle initial (which I would guess is the initial for her maiden name) is from her Linn County, IA death record under L. P. D. Bardwell, matching these dates & burial location. I do believe there is a "D" showing on her stone also.
