She was born in Missouri on October 5, 1892 and passed away in a Lancaster hospital on Christmas day. She first came to California in 1913.
Mrs. Myer once owned a good deal of property in Mojave area. She started building the Adobe Motel on Sierra Hwy. about 1928. Prior to that time, she and her first husband George Bean, ran the Mojave Post office when it was located on Inyo St. back of the old drug store, where the Mojave Club now stands. She had also operated a service station and café. She formerly owned the property where Mojave Gardens is now located, and also built the Quiet Sleep Motel on 58.
Although she was never a member, she is known to have contributed regularly to the Mojave Community Church, and was instrumental in getting the church built.
Pearl was a member of the Desert Club, the VFW Aux., and was a charter member of the Rebekah Lodge since it was instituted in 1923.
She is Survived by a brother Roy Sell, Glendale, Ariz; and a son-in-law, Glenn E. Fudge, Paradise, Calif.
The 11 a.m. funeral services were held in the Stickel Mortuary Chapel by the Rev. James W. Chitty of the Mojave Community Church. Interment was in the Mojave Cemetery with the members of the Rebekah Lodge conducting the graveside services. Stickel Mortuaries were in charge of the arrangements.
