John T. O'Donnell, 47, died December 20th in the Mojave Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born in Tehachapi, he had lived in Mojave for 41 years, attending school here and in Lancaster.
John had been employed as a mechanic by the Mojave Division of the L.A. Water and Power. He had also worked for the maintenance department of the State Highway Department and as a miner he worked five years in the famous Golden Queen Mine south of Mojave.
He is survived b his widow, Marjorie of 16132 K Street, Mojave; a son, John Jr., Mojave, a daughter, Mrs. John Terndrup, Rancho Cordova; father, John Sr. of Alhambra; two brothers, Danny of Vallejo and Andrew of Chicago; and three grandchildren.
Rosary was said Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 7:30 p.m., followed by mass as 9:00 a.m., Dec. 22 in St. Francis Church.
Interment was in Mojave Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Mojave in charge of arrangements.
