Actor. Born in Texas, he was a veteran of more then 60 sound films in the 1940s. Beginning his career on Nashville radio, he was nicknamed "Lasses" while trouping with the famous A.G. Fields Minstrels in the 1930s. Moving to Hollywood in 1937, he started his film career as sidekick to actors Tim Holt and Jimmy Wakely in RKO westerns. His credits included "Rovin Tumbleweeds" (1939), Oklahoma Renegades" (1940) "The Bandit Trail" (1941), "Dude Cowboy" (1941), "Sergeant York" (1941), "Thundering Hoofs" (1942), "Song of the Range" (1944), "Lonesome Trail" (1945), "Mystery Range" (1947) and "The Babe Ruth Story" (1948).
