Lloyd Leo Dyke
July 26, 1923 - August 9, 2004
Lloyd Dyke, age 81, passed away at his home on Monday, August 9, 2004 following complications from a stroke. His children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were at his side when he passed on to Heaven.

Lloyd Dyke was born on July 26, 1923 in Quinton, Oklahoma. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corp from 1943-1945. He also worked for the Operating Engineers for many years before retiring.

Lloyd married his wife of 61 years, Betty Lou (Bankhead) Dyke on April 14, 1943. They lived most of their life in Mojave, North Edwards and Boron.

Mr. Dyke is survived by his wife, Betty of North Edwards, California; five children, Leroy and Lynda Dyke of Montana, Janie and Ted Smith of Tehachapi, California, Linda and Rick Peters of Edwards, California Edith (Cookie) and Brian Shapiro of Idaho; and Ethel Dyke of No. Edwards, California. Lloyd is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Lloyd also has one surviving sister, Ethel Souza of Mojave.

Most people know him as "Horsetrader". He loved to trade cars, musical instruments, and just about anything else he could. He enjoyed his hobby and we have many memories of his trading days. Lloyd was a Christian man who loved to play worship music. He was an accomplished guitar player and loved to perform for convalescent hospitals, along
with his wife Betty. His love for Jesus showed in everything he did.

Lloyd will be awarded in heaven for all the many people he brought to know the Lord!

A graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug 13, at 10 am. at the Mojave Cemetery. Rev. Grant Frye will officiate the service.

We love you and will miss you dearly, Daddy and Grandpa! But we know you are preparing our place in Heaven beside you! You are so deserving of all God's love and glory!
