Bank Manager Parker Retiring

Keith Parker, manager of Bank of America's Mojave branch will complete a 46year bank career when he retires May 1st.
Parker, who has served 25 of those years as head of the local bank, will be succeeded by Mel Smith, currently assistant manager for loans.
Born in Kansas, Parker joined Bank Of, America in 1926 as a bookkeeper at a Los Angeles branch shortly after graduating from Compton Union High School.
He was assigned to the Bell branch in 1933 as an operation assistant and moved up to officer rank n 1941. Prior to being appointed to Mojave, he served three years at the banks Los Angeles headquarters. :
One of the area's most active community leaders, Parker has served as an officer of the Mojave Chamber Of Commerce, Mojave Welfare Fund and Salvation Army drives and has been a member of the Mojave Lions Club, Antelope Valley Board of Trade and Industrial Action Committee. He is also a member of the Mojave Masonic Lodge.
Parker and his wife, Billie, resident of Koch Street, plan to remain in the Mojave area following his retirement. They have one son, Richard, an employee of the May Co., in Los Angeles.
